Revo Uninstaller review
When you install some software, you’re usually sure you can get rid of it at any time. Sometimes it’s not quite so: the removed app leaves some traces of it on your HDD and in your memory, like a scar. These remnants may slow down your system, and even if they don’t, they take precious space.
Revo Uninstaller is supposed to be a real program killer that wipes them out to nonexistence, like in “1984”.Read More
Uninstalling the software from Revo Uninstaller is a two-step operation. First, you select the program you don’t need any more from the list and select “Uninstall.” This launches the system uninstalling utility provided by Windows or the program itself.
The most important thing comes next, when Revo Uninstaller scans your registry for remaining strings concerning the removed program, and also your hard drive for remaining folders and files. They all can be removed manually, all of them or selected ones.
This way of removing programs is much more productive. First, it leaves no trace of gone applications in the registry so that it won’t slow down. Second, deleting the remaining files and folders clears some space and eases disk service.
But there’s more to Revo Uninstaller than this useful procedure. Revo Uninstaller can help you clear any data you don’t need file history in Microsoft Office, thumbnails of the pictures you opened, unused Windows files, dumps or ChkDsk files, and so on. There is also a tool for total wiping all deleted files beyond all recovery. It also can monitor all registry changes in real time and link them to the software you install, to analyze data quicker if you decide to uninstall some of it. If you uninstalled any software before installing Revo Uninstaller, there might still be some remains of it in your system. The application can do the seek and destroy, but only in Pro version.
In fact, Revo Uninstaller is a multi-functional disk service tool. We recommend you try it, at least Revo Uninstaller Free.
It looks so 1990s, but it only sets you in an administrator mood. The app has tabbed interface, so if you found some time to clean up your system, you can open several tabs and select the data to delete in any of them.
Revo Uninstaller requires some thorough digging, but, as you do it, it can make your computer great again. The menus are logical, the guides leave no place for mistakes, all you have to do is read carefully. All the cleaning processes are conducted by special wizards that help the user on each step.
It’s also worth noticing that the app’s interface is available in most popular languages. So there’s even less space for possible mistakes on user’s side (that can be devastating for your PC when you use such a powerful tool).
Cross-platform use 3/5
The application is only meant for Windows, though there is a similar Android version (or rather a separate tool for Android especially). It’s compatible with Windows XP and up to 10.
The Pro version of Revo Uninstaller is offered for $39.25 (if you’re lucky, you can have it on sale for $19.62). Pro version has features like batch uninstalling, real-time monitoring of registry and system logs, multilevel backup (including registry), exporting installed programs list and command line support. There is even more expensive Pro Portable that can be installed on a USB drive and work with any number of computers, for $69.25 (or, if you’re lucky, for $34.62).
A very useful tool, though in free version it lacks some key features, remaining ones are enough for it to make sense. You can download Revo Uninstaller Pro and try it for free for 30 days, and then decide whether it’s worth buying.Collapse
A must have cleaner tool if you want to keep your computer in order as well as your house.
